I would give them no stars if I could. Didn't ask what we wanted, just started with the sales. Then we either had to do a "two for" or get double charged for a single plot! They wanted almost $8,000 just for burial!

  • I empathize with the families that have had a bad experience with United Memorial. My experience was very pleasant. My father had bought many plots back in 1991 and no one is buried in them. I was able to bury my father next to his mother like he always wanted.

Renee was very nice to me and my family. The staff members that I read about in other reviews I did not meet and they may no longer be there. I worked with Jon as well and he was very nice. All costs were transparent and I say my father buried. The grave diggers were efficient and not disrespectful.

My father dealt with United Memorial for over 25 years and everything he paid for, he has received. I have a brother buried near Detroit and those cemeteries are locked up, even during the day. (I tried to see my brother in mid-July around 5pm and the gates were locked.) Here, you can see your loved ones whenever. And to me, that is worth the time and drive.

I would like to say that this place is great, but in handling my fathers death I was not happy. It has been 9 months since my father passed. His bench we ordered and paid for was never made. We finally realized where the hiccup lay with that. They tried to remedy the situation. We appreciate it. Then Fast forward to fathers day. We went to visit...there was no marker on his grave. We asked specifically since his bench was never sent to be made can you please make sure his grave is marked with his birthday and fathers day approaching. That did not happen. I think in handling peoples loved ones...they should be a bit more on top of things to say the least. I am very dissatisfied with the service of the cemetery. They dropped the ball, and refunding a small portion of the costs was nice, but having dignity and respect in caring for the remains of loved ones is a bit more important. Keep markers present. Let people know where there loved ones are. It was gut wrenching to wake up on fathers day and take my children to see their grandfather and his grave not even be marked. Just an empty plot, that FYI has a bench that was paid for before he even died. However NEVER made. No follow up! Nothing. The only thing I can say is the consultant that helped us before he passed Marianne, was very nice. Helpful and nice. She left the day we buried him and it has been hell ever since.

Like I have seen in the reviews, if I could give zero stars if I could....My Parents bought plots at UMG back in the 50's and when my Mother passed December 2016, everything went off without any problems....Fast forward to February 2017 and everything is hitting the fan.... They are trying to double charge us for things that have already been paid for...I have just hung up from a lawyer to pursue this case....They are telling us we need to pay over $2000 for an opening and closing, which my Mom and my cousin have already paid over $2000 on....When asked how much would it cost to walk in the door and pay for opening and closing and it is $1800.... So you can see they are crooks and double charging people...

  • This cemetery has a full scale tabernacle with windows lengthwise to see inside. The court and the items allowed in. A few things were not included, such as the curtains and layered ceiling. A very informational guide. A nice big patio area, with plenty of seating after the tour for conversation regarding the the old versus the new T and a picnic. All this while surrounded by a beautiful cemetery.
